Can Donald Cerrone Beat Melvin Guillard?

| by

Melvin Guillard needed a win in the worst way when he stepped inside the Octagon to face Fabricio Cames at UFC 148 earlier this month. "The Young Assassin" secured that victory, and now is in the co-main event for UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar.

Guillard will face Donald Cerrone from Denver on August 11. The card goes down on pay-per-view inside the Pepsi Center.

"There is no way that Cerrone can beat me, because for the first time ever, I will be fighting at my full potential," said Guillard, in a press release by Authentic Sports Management. "I can't wait for Denver. I'm already in shape and in my mind, and in strategy sessions with my coches, I've already won the fight 10 different ways."

Guillard was poised for a title push in the UFC's lightweight division before back-to-back submission defeats at the hands of Joe Lauzon and Jim Miller. Cerrone, meanwhile, rebounded from a loss to Nate Diaz to defeat Jeremy Stephens in his most recent Octagon encounter.
