Cain Velasquez is Excited to Fight Junior dos Santos Again

| by

Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has been waiting for his chance to face Junior dos Santos for well over a year. In late 2011, dos Santos claimed the UFC title with a first round victory over Velasquez.

Now, in just a matter of days, the two will collide against in the main event of UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II. The bout highlights the year-end show by the UFC from Las Vegas.

After taking out Antonio Silva, Velasquez was positioned to challenge dos Santos - a role reversal from the first time they met.

"I wasn't sure if the UFC was going to give this fight to someone else or what the holdup was," said Velasquez, on a recent Fuel TV show. "Now that it's finally here, it's a big relief."

Velasquez said he plans to be more "aggressive, push the pace forward. I didn't do that (the last fight), I sat back and threw some leg kicks. I need to push the pace forward, throw a lot of punches and try to get some takedowns, as well."

Much like UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson said following his win over Nate Diaz, Velasquez has visualized his victory "a hundred ways. I've been visualizing it so many different ways: knockouts, TKOs or having it go long and be grueling. I'm just seeing my hand raised at the end of it."
