Brazilian Prospect Hacran Dias Signs with UFC

| by

In front of the Brazilian people on Sensei SporTV Saturday night, Hacran Dias signed a three-fight contract with the UFC. Dias is the main sparring partner of UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

"Today is the happiest day of my life," said Dias (thanks to Sherdog.com for transcribing). "Dede (Pederneiras) has been working on this for a long time, trying to get me in there, and today he came up with the contract. When he handed it to me, I couldn't believe it; everyone cheered for me. I'm very happy with everything that's happening to me."

Dias is part of the Nova Uniao camp and fights at 145 pounds. Since turning pro at 18, Dias has accumulated a record of 20-1-1, including eight straight victories and the Shooto South America featherweight title. He joins teammates Aldo, Renan Barao, Johnny Eduardo and Luis Ramos in the UFC.
