A match between Vido Loncar (Croatia) and Algirdas Baniulis (Lithuania) at the European Youth Boxing Championships recently turned ugly.
After the match was stopped by the referee in Zagreb, Croatia, Loncar suddenly started punching him (videos below).
According to CBS News, Loncar began the assault before the official announced to the audience that the light-heavyweight bout was over.
Loncar reportedly pounded the ref eight times before people jumped into the ring and stopped the attack.
For his part, Baniulis bravely left the ring while the referee was beaten.
The Telegraph notes that Loncar was pulled out of the ring by his ankles, while the referee was given medical attention.
Loncar faces a ban or a long suspension.
