Bellator Will Have a New Reality Show Next Year

| by

Bellator Fighting Championships will make the move over to Spike TV beginning in 2013, leaving MTV2 for the former home of the UFC. Along with televising live fight cards, Bellator announced that they will partner with the co-creator of The Amazing Race to broadcast a reality series starring Bellator fighters.

"We are thrilled to partner with an industry legend such as (Bertram) van Munster, whose creativity and ingenuity will help expose Bellator to an expanded new audience next year on Spike," said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney in a press releaase.

Van Munster has won eight Emmy Awards for his work, including the hit reality show The Amazing Race. He said, "Some of the most physically-gifted and fascinating athletes in the world fight in Bellator, and I believe they make ideal subjects for an innovative new non-scripted series."

More details are expected to be released in the coming weeks and months, with the one-hour special airing in 2013.
