Bellator 71 Recap: Travis Wiuff Beats Chris Davis

Travis Wiuff, Attila Vegh, Tim Carpenter and Emanuel Newton all earned early stoppage victories at Bellator 71 Friday night to advance in the "Summer Series" light heavyweight tournament. Wiuff won by knockout, while the other three claimed submission victories.

Also on the card, Brett Rogers made a successful return to fighting, defeating Kevin Asplund via doctor's stoppage after the second round.

Wiuff earned a knockout victory over Chris Davis in the first round, dropping him and finishing him with strikes at 4:12.

Vegh topped Zelg Galesic with a rear-naked choke, as did Newton against Rob Broughton. Carpenter, meanwhile, earned a submission win via armbar.
