Anthony Pettis Wants to be a Coach on The Ultimate Fighter?

| by

Nothing has been confirmed, but if the UFC asked Anthony Pettis to coach on The Ultimate Fighter, the former WEC champion would gladly say yes. Pettis is currently awaiting word on his next opponent as he recovers from shoulder surgery.

"It's been mentioned by my management," said Pettis, during a recent interview with MMAjunkie.com. "They said it's not necessarily in the works but is more of a rumor. But for me, it's a great opportunity. If it does happen, I'm definitely going to go for it."

A possible coaching opponent would be Donald Cerrone, also an ex-star in the WEC. Being a coach on TUF would position the winner to be a major force in the stacked UFC lightweight division in the near future.

"Showtime" mentioned being ready to return to action in either October or November, but would likely delay that return to coach on TUF. The next season is expected to air later this fall, though nothing has been confirmed by the UFC.
