Anderson Silva Wants to Participate in 2016 Olympics?

| by

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has discussed his desire to box in the past. Now, as the Summer Olympics prepare to head to Silva's native country of Brazil, it appears that "The Spider" has started pondering the idea again.

Currently, Silva is without a new challenger to his title after taking care of Chael Sonnen. UFC president Dana White has stated Silva desires to take the rest of the year off.

In a recent interview with SporTV, Silva discussed the prospects of possibly competing for an Olympic medal.

"It would be a challenge in my career, and I'd like that," Silva said. "Participating in a competition like this is something really lacking for me."
