Alabama's Tony Mitchell Signs with BDA Sports
Not too long ago, it appeared that Alabama Junior forward Tony Mitchell was not sure whether he was going to attempt to transfer to another school and play out his upcoming Senior season or declare for the 2012 NBA Draft. One thing was certain – after his multiple suspensions, he was not going to be staying with the Alabama Crimson Tide. The questions were put aside when he declared for the NBA Draft and then hired Todd Ramasar of BDA Sports.
Mitchell put up good numbers in his Junior season (while he was permitted to step foot onto the court). He averaged roughly 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. If the 6’6 small forward can stay focused on improving his game, he could be given a shot in the NBA.
Final note – make sure you do not confuse Alabama’s Tony Mitchell with the Tony Mitchell at North Texas. The latest that I have heard is that the North Texas Tony Mitchell, who appears to almost certainly have a future in the NBA, will be returning to school.
