Rumors are swirling that Hollywood glamour couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are going their separate ways. But while some sources confirm a split, others are saying it's much ado about nothing.
"Totally false" and "everything is fine" are what several sources are saying about a report in London's News of the World that claims the power couple is ending their relationship. That report says Pitt and Jolie -- who, by the way, never got married -- have met with divorce lawyers in Los Angeles and agreed to money and child issues.
They reportedly will split their $330 million dollar fortune, and share custody of their six children. They have three biological children -- the other three were adopted. The children will reportedly live full-time with Jolie.
"The contract was like a tailor-made version of a prenuptial agreement," a source told the British tabloid. "It seemed clear they want the world to know they'll both play a part in the upbringing of the children."
It's unclear when the contract will go into effect. "But the paperwork is already organized for a breakup - and for it to be as unmessy for them as possible," the source said. "It is clear it's a case of when they break up rather than if."
Canadian journalist Ian Halperin reported Sunday that a close friend of Pitt's says the actor has been preparing to bail from his five-year relationship with Jolie for at least six months.
"Brad is miserable and wants a new start," said the friend, who is described as a Hollywood industry veteran. "He's looked miserable and exhausted the past couple of years because he can't handle Angie's explosive personality and self destructive ways.
"I love Brad and am in his corner all the way. I feel so bad for him because Angie put him through the ringer. I can confirm that his relationship with Angie is over," the friend told Halperin, who is the author of the book, "Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie."
The couple has not been seen in public together lately. They skipped last week's Golden Globe awards, as well as this weekend's SAG Awards. Pitt made a solo appearance on his pal George Clooney's Haiti telethon on Friday, while Jolie was said to be in New York.
Representatives for Pitt and Jolie did not return calls for comment from several news organizations
