Young Girl Forges Letter From School To Get Extra Week Off School

An amused mother took to Reddit recently after her daughter wrote a fake letter from school announcing that the holiday break had been extended.

The little girl, 7-year-old Cara, had reportedly handed her parents the letter on a Sunday after pretending to get the mail -- not realizing that mail isn't delivered on Sundays, Pop Sugar reports. The note was written in black with a signature in blue ink, then stamped with a pink princess stamp Cara hoped would look like an official seal.

“The school company is taking a brake so the kids will get one more week of school off and we will need your child to sign their name here,” the note read.

Reddit users were tickled by the note and wrote that the “school company” really meant business.

“The stamp really makes it legit,” one user quipped. “No stamp, would have thought it was fake. One more week for sure.”

Other users recalled doing the same thing when they were younger. One user wrote that he had handed a similar letter to his mother with a fake signature at the bottom. His mother then asked him to look up “forgery” in the dictionary, which made him feel “defeated.”
