A mom’s Facebook post about a “weird” thing her young son told her proves the legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. is lasting.
Cindy Tow took to Facebook to relay a story about something her son told her one day. Tow explains that her son recently turned to her and asked, “Mom, can I tell you something weird?”
When Tow allowed him to speak, she had no idea what he was going to say.
“I really can’t wait for Martin Luther King Day,” the young boy admitted.
Popular VideoThis judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:
“That’s not weird,” Tow claims to have responded. “It sounds like you’re really inspired by him.”
“Yeah,” the boy said, “because if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be able to play with my friend.”
Tow posted the conversation, along with a photo of her young son and his friend, and the post quickly went viral. The simple and innocent statement made by the young boy proves that, despite continued racial tensions in America, the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. is lasting.
