On August 26, 2016, Pamela Dziminski was sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a four-year-old boy.

The 30-year-old Ewing, New Jersey resident was arrested March 2, 2015, after child welfare authorities discovered video of the assault posted online, reports the Daily Mail.

Following her arrest, she admitted video recording herself performing sex acts on the boy, and then selling then selling the video to three people in a cash transaction.

She also took nude photos of the child alone and with herself, authorities said.

Female pedophilia is considered rare, but child psychologist Michele Elliot isn’t so sure. “Since the early 1990s I have been trying to get female sexual abuse of children taken seriously.” Since authoring the book “Female Sexual Abuse of Children” in 1994, she has “received 800 calls from men and women who, as children, were sexually abused by women,” she notes.

Elliot contends that “everything you say about a male abuser you can say also about females: they have the same motivations (sexual gratification, power play) and fantasies. Female abusers go online and talk to each other in much the same language that male abusers do.”

Dziminski’s parents and attorney insist that she does not fit that profile, however.

After the sentencing, her parents issued a statement, saying they were in a shocked by their daughter’s behavior, although they were aware of her having been depressed before the incident occurred, according to

They alleged that she was coerced into taking the video and pictures. In an failed attempt to get a reduced sentence, her attorney argued that there were other circumstances that affected Dziminski’s behavior.

She becomes eligible for parole in 20 years.
