A woman engaged in a major divorce battle with her estranged husband at the High Court in London has told the judge that she will aim to find a new husband to make money.

Ekaterina Fields, 42, formerly a child movie star in Russia and a model, is involved in a legal battle with 59-year-old Richard Fields, an international lawyer. The dispute concerns assets totaling around £6 million ($9.6 million) and is being heard at the Family Division of the High Court.

Asked by a lawyer representing Mr Fields if she intended to work again, Mrs Fields responded, "No. I intend to make attempts at making money ... It is unclear at this point how I would succeed.

“I am a very good wife. I will try to find a husband,” she went on to say, according to Yahoo News.

“It is the husband's case that my client married him for his money and he indulged her throughout,” Lewis Marks, Mrs Fields’ legal representative, stated in court.

“It was not at all the dynamic of the relationship,” Mrs Fields commented.

Legal bills are expected to run to over £1 million ($1.6 million) if the couple fails to reach a settlement, according to reports.

“You and Mr Fields were married to each other for 10 years roughly," Mr Justice Holman, the presiding judge, said to Mrs Fields in court. "You have got two children. It really doesn’t have to be like this. It should never have got this far. Think about what each of you could have done with a million pounds. Just think.

“You should not be going on like this. Frankly, it is very, very unedifying,” Mr Justice Holman stated, according to the Guardian.
