Woman Sues Delta After Passenger Gropes Her (Video)

| by Michael Allen

A woman has filed a civil lawsuit against Delta Airlines for not stopping a male passenger, Christopher Finkley, from groping her on July 27, 2016, during a flight from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to Detroit (video below).

Finkley was convicted of groping the woman in March, and served one week in jail, reports WJBK. He was also convicted of indecent exposure, notes WWJ.

The woman's lawyer, Jordan Acker, says Finkley exposed himself and masturbated in his seat, and then was allowed to move around the cabin until he sat next to the woman and reached under her shorts.

"I looked down and his hands were rubbing my leg," said the woman, who identified herself as Rhonda. "It continued to escalate; he went inside my shorts."

"While he was doing this, the defendant told her that he 'liked white women' and asked 'where’s your man?'" Rhonda's legal papers allege.

The complaint says Rhonda told Finkley to stop, and informed him that her 14-year-old child was sitting behind her.

Finkley eventually went back to his seat, according to the lawsuit, and resumed masturbating while exposing himself.

Acker noted what he thinks the flight attendants should have done:

What they should've done, after they found out he's masturbating and exposing himself in first class and the stewardess went to the cabin and told the pilot, who radioed ahead to call the police. They should've taken the flight attendants and monitored that man and not allowed that predator to run through the cabin.

Acker stated that Finkley was flying in first class:

And this gentleman, if I want to call him that, was fondling himself in first class -- he was noticed about 40 minutes into the two-hour flight by a flight attendant -- the flight attendant apparently called down to Detroit to make sure that police would be there to arrest this man.

Finkley told FBI agents "that he likes to sit with his hands in his pants and massage his penis, and called this 'his happy place,'" says the sentencing memorandum from his criminal case. Finkley reportedly said "he did not mean for the flight attendants to see his penis but that it is possible that they did."

According to Acker, the flight crew did not try to restrain Finkley when they "observed him masturbating with his penis exposed," and did not try to prevent the assault on Rhonda, who was crying and distraught when the flight landed in Detroit.

Rhonda's complaint states that she "now suffers from anxiety while flying."

Delta did not comment on the legal proceedings.
