A Massachusetts woman showed her generosity by paying off all layaway orders at a Toys ’R’ Us, ultimately giving around 150 customers a huge gift for the holidays.

The anonymous woman reportedly walked into a Toys ‘R’ Us in Bellingham, Massachusetts, and asked if she could pay off all layaway balances that the store had. All in all, the woman paid $20,000 to make sure everybody with toys on layaway could take them home without making any more payments.

“This incredible act of kindness is a true illustration of holiday giving at its best,” Toys ‘R’ Us said in a statement.

The Milford Daily Mail reports that the anonymous woman is a local who reportedly said she would “sleep better at night” knowing that all of the accounts were paid off.

When customers learned that their accounts were paid off, emotions were understandably high, and people shed tears of joy and gratitude for the huge gift they received.

“I didn’t believe it,” Linda, a Toys ‘R’ Us customer, said. “I thought, ‘You have to be kidding me.’ I almost wanted to cry. It was only $50, but that someone would go and do that gave me chills. What they did was so caring and thoughtful. I feel like I was part of something special – touched by an angel.”

Thanks to the generosity of a complete stranger, many people in the area who were working extra shifts and trying to save money to afford presents for their kids will not have to worry when Christmas arrives.
