Houston Mom Accused Of Shoplifting At Walmart, Leaving Young Kids In Car

A mom has been arrested after allegedly leaving her three children alone in a car so she could go shoplifting at a Walmart in Houston.

Jenni Lynn Ruthven, 31, is accused of leaving her three children, a 3-, 5- and 7-year-old, in a car while shoplifting at a local Walmart Saturday afternoon, Click 2 Houston reported.

Ruthven reportedly paid for only a few items and was spotted by a loss prevention officer. While she was being questioned, someone paged the store about three kids who were left alone in a car in the parking lot.

The mother-of-three told the officers those were her children and she was arrested. Ruthven has been charged with two counts of endangering a child and is being held on $2,000 bond in the Harris County Jail.
