Police Looking For Woman Caught On Video Throwing Dog

| by Amanda Andrade-Rhoades

A woman identified as Brandi Chin of Fairfield, California, is accused of throwing a pug named Ben so hard that he rolled across the pavement several times in the direction of her ex-boyfriend.

"Me and her were arguing about personal things,” the ex-boyfriend told KCRA. "It got blown up into something else, and I think it just got out of hand.”

Neighbor David Shields posted the video online which allegedly shows Chin throwing the dog, prompting authorities to investigate. Shields said he’s seen Chin abuse the dog before, but the suspect’s ex-boyfriend said otherwise.

"She's not an animal abuser," he said. "She's never abused animals when I was with her."

Police are looking for both Chin and Ben. Authorities believe Chin is hiding in the nearby city of Vallejo.

"She was recently seen walking down a business district in Fairfield, and she apparently had the dog by the tail and she was swinging it around,” Sgt. Michael Ramirez with Solano's Humane Animal Services told KTXL.

"We are looking to file animal cruelty charges against her and have this dog removed from her because the dog doesn't deserve that," he added.

Veterinarians will evaluate Ben once he is found, reports KCRA.
