Dorothy Clagg alerted authorities that something might be amiss when she accused her Brooksville, Florida, neighbor, Nickole Dykema, of slashing her window screens and air conditioner with a large knife.
Dykema then refused to allow deputies into her mobile home, so they forced their way in.
Authorities say they found more than 3,500 knives, swords and machetes hanging on Dykema's walls alongside Halloween props, some of which were arranged as a shrine of sorts, The Huffington Post reported.
Dykema allegedly took a machete and slashed at one of the deputies, narrowly missing his head. She then ran into another room, hid under a blanket and waved a sword in front of her, WFLA reported.

Police subdued Dykema with a bean bag gun and a stun gun before taking her into custody.
"The person was obviously dangerous to the community,” Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis said in a statement. "It amazes me that these deputies were able to take her into custody without anyone being injured. It shows the level of their restraint and professionalism under very difficult and dangerous conditions. Had something gone wrong, it would be easy for critics to accuse them of moving too quickly or too slowly.”
Dykema was on probation for shoplifting knives and wasn’t allowed to own weapons.
"She never wanted anyone to go in her house, and now I know why,” Clagg told WFTS, according to The Huffington Post.
