Some unidentified Whole Foods Market employees were filmed assaulting and cursing at a man who was trying to enter the grocery store after closing hours in New York City on Dec. 30, 2014.

A video (below) of the incident was uploaded to LiveLeak and has gone viral.

The Gothamist notes that one Whole Foods employee told the man: "You want to be a f---ing tough guy? Get the f--- out of here!"

The man countered: "I'm a veteran. Don't do that," reported DNAInfo.

However, the workers continued to punch and kick him outside the store in Union Square as bystanders did nothing but watch and film.

A representative of Whole Foods told Grub Street in a statement:

Whole Foods Market is aware of the incident that took place in front of our Union Square store after hours on December 30th. The team members identified so far in the video have been placed on administrative leave while we complete our internal investigation. We take all incidents involving team members, customers and members of our community seriously and consider safety and security a top priority.
