Two Croatian Diners Racially Insult Jamie Foxx

| by Denise Recalde

A-list Hollywood star Jamie Foxx was filmed on the receiving end of racial slurs spoken by two fellow diners at a Croatian restaurant.

The movie star, who is on location in Dubrovnik, posted comments and videos about the disturbing Feb. 20 incident on his Instagram page.

According to Total Croatia News, two men aged 44 and 50 spouted the offensive word "crncuga" at Foxx as he was having his evening meal. The term translates to "n****r."

In the video posted to Instagram, Foxx is seen sitting on the left as the two diners are being led away. Foxx has since deleted his comments on social media about the incident, the Daily Mail reports.

Croatian police have arrested and pressed disorderly conduct charges against the two individuals for having reportedly targeted "one of the guests on racial grounds."

The same authorities are mulling pressing other charges against the two men.

The statement released by police describing the incident did not cite Foxx as the target.

Like other European areas, Croatia has been witnessing more and more incidents connected to far-right sentiments of late.

Foxx is in Dubrovnik, an Adriatic Sea resort, filming "Robin Hood: Origins" as the character "Little John."

He has been posting pictures of Croatia to Instagram, including one taken the day after the incident that has him commenting he was awed by the beauty of the area.

He wrote: "For a young boy from Terrell, this is blowing my mind just a little bit. I have seen some s*** but this right here…. I’m all the way from Terrell, Texas, don’t tell me your dreams can’t come true."

The Lionsgate-produced action flick tells the tale of the classic English hero from a new, modern angle. It stars Taron Egerton as the leader thief. Otto Bathurst is the director of the film, which also stars Tim Minchin, Jamie Dornan, Ben Mendelsoh and Eve Hewson.

The actor is well known for having played big roles in "Dreamgirls," "Django Unchained," and "Horrible Bosses." He won an Oscar in the best actor category in 2003 for playing jazz singer Ray Charles in a critically acclaimed biopic, BBC News reports.
