In March 2015, police officer Tyler Beddoes was one of the first responders to arrive at the scene of a devastating car accident in which the vehicle was submerged in a river in Spanish Fork, Utah (video below). The young driver, identified as 25-year-old Lynn Groesbeck, was dead in the driver’s seat and her daughter, 18-month-old Lily, was trapped in the car for 14 hours.

Beddoes and other responders said they heard a woman’s voice yelling, “Help me!” from inside the car, and one officer can be heard on the video yelling, "We're helping, we're coming!” However, the cries for help remain unexplained since Lynn was killed in the car crash instantly.

Beddoes has attributed the voice to divine intervention and has since written a book called “Proof of Angels.”

"It was an adult woman's voice," Beddoes said in an interview with Fox and Friends about his book. "A calming voice.

" ... When we flipped the car over, there was no other explanation for it, other than an angel. There was no one else there.”

In an interview with Fox News shortly after the crash, Beddoes said other responders had the same experience.

"When we all talked together, I said, 'Was I the only one that was hearing this?' thinking that I was hearing things,” he said.  "And when I talked to the other officers, we all had heard the same thing, a voice saying, 'Help us. Help me.’"

Officer Bryan Dewitt said the rescue was “incredible” on its own.

"We were just able to push the car onto its side," he said. "How, I don't know, whether it's adrenaline or what.

“ ... As I grabbed the little baby out of the car seat, as I pulled her head up, I could tell that there was some life in her. I could see her eyes open.”

Lily has since recovered completely from the crash and Beddoes said the incident restored his faith in God.
