Idaho woman Amy Olzak has claimed that a local officer assaulted her 12-year-old son.
In a claim against Idaho Falls state police, Olzak noted that an IFPD officer unnecessarily used force on her son that caused broken teeth, a possible concussion, and bruising and trauma to the neck and face.
“He walked over to my son and then he put my son’s hand behind his back and like lifted him up in the air and slammed his face into the trunk of a car,” Olzak said according to Local News 8.
Olzak noted that this all started when she reported her son missing on March 13. She immediately called dispatch, although her son was located by a friend.

Olzak said she isn’t sure why the officer did that since there was no reason for it.
Jessica Bowles, a witness, said she couldn’t believe what was happening when an officer reportedly assaulted Olzak’s son. "I walked up closer and saw a chipped tooth, blood, and two fat lips," she said according to The Root.
Finally, Olzak called a second officer, who decided that her son needed medical attention.
Olzak said her son was kept in handcuffs until she took him home. She isn’t sure why her son was arrested in the first place.
