A hidden camera found in a restaurant bathroom has prompted the involvement of the state police's major crime unit.

The Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into the March 19 discovery of a camera inside the women’s bathroom at Moe’s Southwest Grill in Milltown, Delaware. According to WPVI News, after allegedly hearing certain comments from a male coworker, a female employee became suspicious and found the camera hidden inside the restroom.

The camera was attached to a trash can, which was connected with a flat wire to a battery pack hidden underneath a plastic trash bag liner. A memory card was also discovered inside the camera.

Although it is unknown as to how long the camera had been in the bathroom, investigators estimate that it contains more than 100 images of women and girls using the facilities, one of whom was between the ages of five and eleven.

According to Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, spokesman for the Delaware State Police, the investigation has been assigned to the major crimes unit, as reported by Delaware Online.

"The investigation is in its early stages and we are conducting interviews and examining the evidence to determine possible victims," Hale stated.

Roshan Patel, the owner of the Milltown franchise, stated he had "no comment at this time, we don't want to release anything at this time, we are working with police."

A spokesperson for corporate headquarters of Moe’s Southwest Grill said they have been informed of the case, Patel is cooperating with law enforcement, and the safety of their customers is one of their utmost priorities.

According to its official website, Moe’s Southwest Grill was founded in Atlanta and has since expanded to more than 600 locations through the United States and internationally. The chain has been awarded several accolades and has ranked number one in the Mexican Fast Casual category as published in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top 500 Franchises, as reported by Moe’s Franchise.
