Police captured the three suspects responsible for the attempted carjacking shortly after. They were identified as Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Nicholas Rosado and Rebecca Utria, who was driving the getaway car and crashed into a fence, Fox 6 Now reported.

The suspects are facing charges of attempted carjacking and eluding police, according to the Hialeah Police Department. Officers also confiscated three handguns from the would-be robbers.

“She was a mom — and what that bad guy didn’t know was in the backseat of that car were two kids — and she wasn’t going to let them be taken,” Sgt. Carl Zogby with the Hialeah Police Department told Fox 6 Now. “She fought. She dragged the guy out of the car and they both ran away like cowards.”

Zogby added that no one was harmed during the incident.
