Caitlyn Jenner might be considering becoming Bruce Jenner again because of the Bible and her sexual attraction to women, according to a new book about the Kardashian family. But Jenner's publicist adamantly denied the report.
Ian Halperin, the author of "Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family," told the Wrap that, while researching his book, multiple sources told him that Jenner was unhappy as a woman and has considered transitioning back to a man because of her attraction to women and her Christian belief that same-sex relations are sinful.
“It is that struggle, I can disclose, which has prompted her to confide in friends - and the reason why they have told me that she may detransition in the future,” Halperin said according to the Daily Mail.
“She has been crystal clear that she is not gay, which means that reconciling her new gender with her religious views, and with her desire to find love, is a struggle - and one which friends believe could lead to detransition,” Halperin wrote.
However, Jenner's press representative blasted Halperin's statements.
“Not worth commenting on such an idiotic report,” Jenner’s press representative told the New York Daily News. “Of course it's not true. “
But many websites reported on Halperin's statements, leading the Daily Beast to propose that the reason was to promote the idea that gender transitions are bogus.
“'Detransition' stories appeal to a particular and disappointingly large audience of people who want to believe that gender transition doesn’t work, that it’s not a proven form of therapy, and that no one can be happy once they have crossed the gender divide,” Daily Beast writer Samantha Allen said.
The rumors about Jenner reached conservative preacher Franklin Graham, who offered the former Olympian words of encouragement on Twitter, using a male pronoun.
“I hope that Caitlyn Jenner will be able to find peace with God that will ultimately bring peace within himself,” he wrote.
