Rock star Ozzy Osbourne is set to undergo treatment for his sex addiction.
The news was revealed on Aug. 3 after speculation grew over what had caused the breakdown of his marriage with Sharon Osbourne, media reports said.
“Over the last six years, I have been dealing with a sex addiction,” a statement from the singer read, according to Rolling Stone. “I’m mortified at what my behavior has done to my family. I thank God that my incredible wife Sharon is at my side to support me.”
Osbourne says he had sex with a large number of women and wanted to apologize to them all.

The Black Sabbath band member previously denied his marriage was affected by a relapse.
“I have been sober for three and a quarter years. I have not touched drugs or alcohol in that time. Any reports that I am not sober are completely inaccurate,” a statement in May read.
Michelle Pugh, a hairstylist with whom Osbourne had an affair, gave a different description of their relationship.
“When I say he gave me the greatest love of my life, I mean it,” Pugh said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “He made me feel like the most beautiful and worshiped woman in the world.”

She added that Osbourne persuaded her to see only him.
“He made it clear to me and asked me not to see anyone else. We had a very real relationship,” she added.
Osbourne denied this, saying he was sorry if Pugh interpreted their sexual relationship in the wrong way.
Pugh also got into a disagreement with Osbourne's daughter, Kelly Osbourne, after she posted Pugh’s telephone number along with some insults on Twitter.
Pugh sent a cease and desist letter, writing that Kelly and Sharon "have come out and attacked me, berated me, and publicly shamed me on a global scale."
Sharon spoke out about her husband’s difficulties.
“It's hard because it affects the whole family, and it's quite embarrassing to talk about,” she said. “Somehow drugs and drink is more acceptable, I think, but when it's somebody who has a sex addiction, it's embarrassing.”
She still retained a sense of humor.
“I think he should call Tiger Woods for some advice,” Sharon quipped, alluding to the pro golfer's sex addiction scandals.
Sharon confirmed that her husband will spend three months in treatment after returning from a Black Sabbath tour.
