A pig farmer in Seattle is selling pork that was raised eating marijuana, and the meat seems to be a hit with his customers.

William von Scheneidau is using marijuana left over from Washington's legalized weed dispensaries to feed the pigs.

The pigs gain weight 20% quicker than if they were fed grass. It also gives them a "more savory" taste.

"The flavor of the fat is extraordinary. [Customers] love the marbling of the fat," he said. He also revealed that he sells out of meat before the batches are even processed.

The pigs that are fed the drug mostly just relax and lie around, being completely stoned.

He said he came up with the idea when he met owners of a weed dispensary who told him that they had extra stems, stalks and leaves to get rid of. He then asked them if he could take what they were planning to throw out.

But those who hope to get high off of the meat may be in for a surprise, as the effects of the drug do not infuse into the meat.

Von Scheneidau is also going to experiment with the pig's taste by adding beer and vodka to the troughs, and will give marijuana to other animals on the farm.
