Police have identified the gunman who killed a reporter and photographer in Virginia early Wednesday morning, due in part to disturbing video taken by the gunman during the shooting.

The shooter, who is still at large, was identified as Vester Flanagan, a former WDBJ employee who went by the name Bryce Williams on air.

Flanagan shot and killed reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward around 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning during a live broadcast.

After the shooting, he took to social media and posted several statuses against both Ward and Parker, followed by a disturbing video he took of himself carrying out the murders.

Flanagan’s Facebook and Twitter accounts were subsequently deleted, and his video removed from YouTube.
