Update: A source has indicated that David Phelps is not the son of church leader Fred Phelps, and may not be a member of the church at all.

Westboro Baptist Church member David Phelps, who is alleged to be the son of a church leader, was attacked on live TV by an obese naked man who ran from the bathroom, sat on him and shouted "who's your daddy now?"

Phelps was being interviewed at the time of the attack in a mobile studio. That was when a large man in no clothes ran out of the bathroom and attacked him.

At the time, Phelps was commenting on a live crucifixion that is set to be aired on Easter Sunday by TV station Battlecam.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

He wasn't able to finish up his thoughts, however, as a man who is known as "Billy the Fridge" burst out on a mission to attack him.

A video of it was posted on YouTube.

A witness later said that he saw Phelps being chased by the naked man.

Rob Cutler said he saw Phelps running from the motor home, and soon saw the overweight man trailing behind him.

"I was amazed, first I see David run out of a motor home and the next thing I know he's been sat on by this giant naked man who is screaming, 'who's your daddy now Davey?'"

Westboro Baptist is known for sending out offensive anti-gay messages and protesting at military funerals.

Phelps was interviewing to talk about the live crucifixion of a man in Beverly Hills on Sunday.

The man, Robert Garrison, is described as a sadomasochist from Florida who will be hammered with 12 inch nails into a wooden cross behind glass window.

It is supposed to honor "the sacrifices made by our Lord, Jesus Christ," but many have said it is offensive and inappropriate.
