A Japanese man reportedly saw a ghost child in his home, and it captured the moment on video (below), which has since gone viral.

The man, Masahiro Ito, shot the 50-second video clip in a front room of his house, the Mirror reported on Nov. 30. The video depicts what appears to be the ghostly apparition of a young child floating through the room. The ghost child, known as a zashikiwarashi in Japan, walks across the left side of the room towards a lamp, then appears to kneel down.

The apparition then fades away and appears again on the right side of the room a few seconds later.

Ito posted the footage to Facebook with the caption, "Succeeded in recording a zashikiwarashi on video! Those of you who see this will be lucky … maybe," reports the Mirror.

The video had been viewed more than 600,000 times as of Nov. 30.

Rather than being spooked by the sighting, Ito is reportedly thrilled to have the ghost in his home because he believes it will bring him good luck.

In Japanese legend, the zashikiwarashi is a ghost that takes the form of a young child about 5 or 6 years old. The ghost is said to bring good fortune to those who see it, although it does sometimes cause mischief.

The legend also warns people not to mistreat the ghost if it appears in their home. If it leaves due to feeling unwanted, it could bring grave misfortune on them, according to Rocket News 24.

This is not the first time a video of a ghostly apparition has gone viral online.

Earlier in November, another Facebook user posted a video of a ghostly white figure flitting across a deserted car park in Perth, Australia, according to another article in the Mirror. The video depicts the ghostly figure darting back and forth before disappearing.

The video, which was titled "incredible 100 percent evidence of a real ghost," appeared to have been shot from a camera mounted on a forklift.

The person who uploaded the video claimed that it "proves ghosts exist."
