Utah Gun Shop Owner Defends 'Obama Bin Laden' Target (Photos)

A Utah gun shop owner defends the target in his window display that resembles President Barack Obama and says that he hopes it will help initiate change.

Patrick Meinhart, owner of Spanish Fork, Utah’s Quantum Guns, proudly displays a target that is unapologetically a cross between President Obama and Osama Bin Laden; the target itself has a sign around its neck that reads, “Obama Bin Laden. The biggest terrorist this country has ever seen.”

Meinhart says his reason for displaying the controversial target is because he thinks the current president is bringing America down. Meinhart believes that President Obama isn’t doing all that he should be doing to stop the spread of Ebola, fight ISIS and keep the country safe. He also believes that the president is limiting the rights of the people, specifically when it comes to free speech and guns.

“We just put this out there to try to get people to realize what’s going on in the country and try to stand up and do something about it,” says Meinhart, while adding that the target has elicited a mostly positive response. “Honestly I haven’t had anybody come in and complain about it or tell me that I’m wrong. And some people probably say that I’m racist, but it’s got nothing to do with that. It’s that he’s not doing what he was elected to do.”

Meinhart maintains that since putting the target up in June, he has yet to receive a single complaint.

“I figured I’d get some laughs out of it, and it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but it’s actually getting to where it’s kind of a big deal,” Meinhart says to Fox 13 News. “I hope it will bring people to realize what’s going on in the United States right now.”
