President Donald Trump has found a replacement for former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, he announced on Feb. 20, revealing that Army Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster would fill the ousted adviser's vacant position.

"He's a man of tremendous talent and tremendous experience," Trump said to reporters of McMaster, introducing the nominee at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, according to The Washington Post. "He is highly respected by everyone in the military, and we're very honored to have him."

McMaster is a decorated combat veteran currently working as both the director of the Army Capabilities Integration Center think tank as well as the Deputy Commanding General, Futures, at the Army’s Training and Doctrine Command, according to USA Today.

"I would just like to say what a privilege it is to be able to continue serving our nation," McMaster said of his nomination, notes USA Today. "I'm grateful to you for that opportunity, and I look forward to joining the national security team and doing everything that I can to advance and protect the interests of the American people."
