Virgin America Flight Diverted, Passenger Accused of Masturbating (Video)

| by Michael Allen

A Virgin America flight was abruptly diverted to Omaha, Neb., while flying from Boston to Los Angeles on Monday.

According to NBC Los Angeles, an Omaha police report said that passenger Doug Adams was allegedly “masturbating in flight and later tried to open an exit door.”

Law enforcement removed Adams from the plane after it landed at Omaha's Eppley Airfield.

Video (below) of police removing Adams in handcuffs was shot by Sam Slater, a Los Angeles film producer.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

Paul Bernon, another passenger on the flight, claimed the incident began when Adams returned to his seat from the airline bathroom, started arguing with a woman seated near him and demanded to be moved to another seat.

“He at that point was fidgeting and began to remove the plastic covering from the emergency exit door and tried to pull to open the door,'' Slater told NBC Los Angeles. “Fortunately there were a couple of Boston police officers on the flight that were there at that point to help as well.''

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Adams was taken to a local hospital for psychiatric observation.

Uproxx.com notes that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) referred to the incident as a "medical emergency," but didn't reveal any details.
