Video: Arizona Plane Crash Recorded on Webcam

| by Michael Allen

On Wednesday night at around 6:40 p.m., Arizona time, a small plane crashed into Arizona’s Superstition Mountains, killing six people. Amazingly, one Arizona resident was able to capture the crash via webcam, and immediately uploaded the footage onto YouTube (video below).

At around the video’s :50 mark, a burst of light and smoke appears as the plane makes impact with the mountainside. Pinal County Sheriff's spokesman Elias Johnson said rescue crews reached the flaming wreckage by helicopter. He said the plane, a Rockwell AC69, appeared to have disintegrated on impact.

The plane was registered to Ponderosa Aviation of Safford, Ariz. A worker who answered the phone at the company declined to comment.
