Surveillance video recorded by CCTV cameras caught several train drivers in Buenos Aires, Argentina falling asleep, reading a book or playing with their cell phones.

The video footage (below) comes soon after the tragic train crash in Spain where the driver was accused of texting on his cell phone.

According to The Telegraph, 50 people were killed and 700 injured when a train slammed into a train terminal in Argentina in 2012.

Argentina's Interior and Transport Minister Florencio Randazzo plans to ban phone calls and require daily checks on all train drivers to measure their alterness to drive.

Under the new system, train drivers who are caught misbehaving on camera will either be disciplined or fired.

It's not clear why they were not fired before.
