Chicago Subway Train Crashes Inside Airport, Driver Asleep (Video)
A recently released video reportedly shows a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) subway train going off its rails and crashing inside Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.
The subway's Blue Line comes directly into the airport as a convenience in the Windy City, but went terribly wrong early Tuesday morning when the train crashed up the escalator (video below).
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, thirty-two people were injured , but nobody was killed in the bizarre accident. Two people have filed lawsuits.
On the surveillance video, two men can be seen talking as the subway train gets closer and closer. They finally jump out of the way when the destruction begins.
Today, Ted Turpin, an investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board, said the subway train operator admitted that she "dozed off" before the 3 a.m. crash, reports the New York Daily News.
The woman has been a subway train operator for about two months.
She also admitted falling asleep in February, which made her miss a stop at another subway station.
