Three box-like smart cars were tipped over last night in San Francisco.
The smart cars ended up sitting on their front headlights or rear headlights, causing damage to the 1,500-pound vehicles (video below).
Witness Brandon Michael says he saw a group of people flip a smart car last night.
"They looked like they were up to no good," Michael told NBC Bay Area. "And sure enough, they huddled around it and lifted it up."
San Francisco Police Officer Gordon Shyy says suspects could be charged with felony vandalism, as smarts cost about $13,000.

The website refers to the fuel-efficient smart cars as "teensy little wheeled boxes" and "motorized coffins."
