Pregnant Mom Drives Kids in Minivan Into Ocean (Video)

Ebony Wilkerson, a pregnant mom, reportedly try to kill her three children by driving them via the family minivan into the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday.

The incident was caught on video (below) by witness Simon Besner at Daytona Beach, Fla.

Fortunately, the children were rescued by witnesses.

"The son was snatching at the wheel, trying to get her to come back toward the shore and I was asking, I was like, 'What is going on, why are you driving on the water?' I said, 'you're going to get in trouble... you're not supposed to be doing this,'" rescuer Stacy Robinson told ABC News (video below).

"All she repeated is 'OK, We are OK, we are OK,'" added Robinson. "I was like, 'you've got to get out of the water. You're going to get in trouble. You got kids. You're scaring them. They're crying.' And she said, she was like, 'OK' as though she was coming back out the water and took off. She sped off."

Robinson ran into the ocean after the minivan, which started to sink. Wilkerson had rolled up the car windows and locked the doors. Her kids (ages 3, 9 and 10) were screaming and crying.

Robinson was able to reach into one of the back windows that had not been rolled up all the way and open the door.

"That's when I snatched out the boy first and the little girl," recalled Robinson. "Then I noticed the baby in the car seat... she was in the back behind the passenger seat."

Bystanders and lifeguards arrived and helped rescue the children and Wilkerson from the sinking minivan.

Wilkerson had been staying with her sister in Daytona Beach because of domestic problems with her husband in Cross, S.C, reported the Daily Mail.

"She's talking about Jesus, that there's demons in the house," Wilkerson's sister told police in a 911 call earlier in the day. "She's got the kids in the car with her."

Police pulled Wilkerson's minivan over to check on her, but she did not act strangely, according to law enforcement.

"If she made any statements that she was suicidal or homicidal officers would have taken her into custody," Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson told WESH.

Wilkerson told police officers, only hours before the alleged triple murder attempt, that she was going to her “safe place” in order to escape her ex-husband.

Wilkerson has been hospitalized as authorities conduct a mental evaluation.
