Man Accused Of Drunk Driving, Fighting Police While Naked
Matthew Roberts was arrested at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning after reportedly crashing his car into a guardrail in Iowa City, Iowa on Interstate 380 and fleeing the scene on foot.
After police caught Roberts trying to hitchhike, he was tested and found to have a .173 blood-alcohol level, more than twice the legal limit for driving, reports KCRG.
An open bottle of whiskey and beer were found in his car, according to the police report.
Police put Roberts in the back of their police car where he headbutted the car cage, injuring his head.
Roberts was then taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment, where the already-bad situation got worse.
According to KETV, Roberts took off his pants and "caused a scene." When he was finally discharged after being treated, Roberts allegedly refused to put on his clothes and started two fights with a deputy while naked.
The police report stated, "Mr. Roberts was uncooperative the entire time."
Roberts was taken to the Johnson County Jail and charged with second-offense drunken driving and interference with police officers' official acts.
