James Macarelli and Jaide Rios were arrested on Sunday morning after their cars collided in Rensselaer, New York and they were each found to be driving under the influence, say police.

Both drivers were taken into custody after their cars slammed into each other at 3:34 a.m. when they approached an intersection from different directions, reports the Albany Times-Union.

Rios had a blood alcohol level of .20 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent, but Macarelli level has not been made public yet.

Macarelli was treated for minor injuries at St. Peter’s Hospital, then released into police custody. He was charged with driving while intoxicated. Rios did not go to the hospital, but was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.
