Florida Gas Station Charging Tourists $6.44 a Gallon

A Shell gas station near Lake Buena Vista, Florida is selling gas for $6.44 a gallon, about $3 more than what most stations are charging in the area.

Neither the clerk, nor the manager, of the Shell station would comment on the price gouging.

Lake Buena Vista is near tourist destinations such as Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, as well as hotels.

Orange County zoning manager Mitch Gordon told the Orlando Sentinel that the gas station is not breaking any laws as the price is clearly marked on a sign by the road.

Prices at some gas stations near the Orlando International Airport are charging close to $5.50 a gallon.

However, many Orlando, Florida gas stations are selling fuel for $3.17 a gallon, according to the website
