| by Allison Geller

A Texas school bus driver was caught on camera mocking a crying child and then leading the other students in a cruel chant.

Video footage from bus No. 67 in Floresville County shows “Ms. Pat,” the driver, calling a young sobbing girl a “crybaby” shortly before spring break, as reported by KSAT.

Ms. Pat then encourages the students to add to the bullying.

"Ready? Cry, cry, cry!” she leads the students to chant.

The little girl’s sobs can be heard over the noise of most of the bus taunting her.

"I want my mama," Ms. Pat yells at the girl.

Local mom Monna Perez, whose children ride the same bus, was moved to tears by the footage.

"If you can't bully at school, why are they allowing it on the bus?" Perez said.

"She treated the child as if she was a child herself, bullying the child," said another Floresville mom. "Having the other children follow her example, that's just wrong."

The mother, who identified herself only as “Lucy,” said that her son requested that she pick him up from school instead of having him ride the bus. After watching the video, she now knows why.

Floresville Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Sherri Bays said the driver’s actions were ”not appropriate.” While Ms. Pat has been disciplined in some manner, she has not been fired.

"I was very concerned with that and it's definitely not appropriate," Bays said. "I think she's acting very childish and immature."

Ms. Pat and her school bus are still on the road.

"I expect that person to learn from that mistake and we will continue to monitor that," Bays said.
