Tennessee Store Puts Up 'No Gays Allowed' Sign

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage in all 50 states, Jeff Amyx, who owns Amyx Hardware & Roofing Supplies in Grainger County, Tennessee, has decided to take a stand.

On an 8-by-10-inch piece of blank paper, Amyx wrote, in all capital letters, “NO GAYS ALLOWED" and put it in the window of his store. Amyx is a baptist minister and told WBIR that he realized on June 29 that he believes all Christians should proudly display their beliefs.

“(LGBT people) gladly stand for what they believe in, why can't I? They believe their way is right, I believe it's wrong. But yet I'm going to take more persecution than them because I'm standing for what I believe in," Amyx told WBIR.

Amyx has no intention of taking the sign down, Advocate reported.
