The 16-year-old girl from Michigan who made national headlines for apparently faking being pregnant with triplets could be facing charges.
The teen, who has not ben named, collected thousands of dollars in donations while her boyfriend was apparently none the wiser. The teen admitted to the fraud after her boyfriend’s family called the police when her supposed due date passed.

Investigators are looking into criminal charges, WGNTV reported. Police are also investigating if the teen was actually pregnant at some point, USA Today reported.
The teen allegedly faked her pregnancy with the help of FakeABaby.com, a joke website which sells everything needed to falsify a pregnancy, including silicone baby bumps, fake prescriptions and forged sonograms. Among the site’s tag lines is “why make ‘em laugh when you can make ‘em cry!”
