Teen Turns Himself In After Throwing Woman In Pool (Video)

| by Michael Doherty

A North Lauderdale, Florida, teen has turned himself in to police after a video posted online showed him body slamming a woman and then throwing her into a pool (video below).

The 16-year-old boy was charged with one count of battery on a person aged 65 or older for the alleged attack on neighbor Nancy James, 68. "I messed up and I have to own up to it," the teen said, according to Daily Mail.

In the video, the teen is with friends at a pool party when James walks by with her two dogs and asks the party to turn down their music because a few neighbors had complained. Some of the teen's friends shout, "Throw her in!" before he appears to body slam the woman and throw her into the pool.

"We were just asking them, 'lower the volume,'" James, who is the director of the board for the townhouses, said. "I didn't care what they were doing. It's not my job to police the place."

This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

"I'm very happy that they caught the person," said James, who suffered bruises to her leg and shoulder from the attack.

According to a sheriff's deputy, the woman was "very frightened and upset" after the incident, as well as "drenched in water from her shoulders down." James also had her cell phone in her pocket when she was thrown into the pool.

"No one should ever, ever, ever, ever have to go through that, you know?" said James. "It just shouldn't happen. The kid has not evolved yet into what you're supposed to be as a human being."

James declined to go to the hospital over the incident. A few of the partygoers aided her after the others had fled, staying behind to help her find her dogs.

"Thank God," she said, "nice kids that live here, they helped me."

"They went and found my dog for me," she added. "The kids that live here are wonderful kids."

James said that while she had bruises from the incident, she's hopeful that the same thing won't happen again.

"Black and blue, but you know what? He's not gonna ever do this to anyone else," she said, according to WFOR.

Neighbors were also shocked at the incident, WPBF reports.

"First of all, I can't even believe that somebody would be allowed to act like that," said resident Tracy Ann Simmonds. "These young people are a little out of control."

"She's an elder, you need to show respect for for your elders," Simmonds added, "That's crazy, that's a horrible, horrible thing that happened to her."
