A video (below) recently surfaced of a 16-year-old boy using brass knuckles to sucker-punch a 12-year-old boy in Conway, Arkansas, May 31.

In the video, the teen gives the finger -- using both hands -- to the camera person, and then punches the boy, knocking him to the ground, where he hits him three more times with the weapon, notes KARK.

According to the news station, the suspect has been identified as Kane Millsaps.

Cody Hiland, a 20th Judicial District Prosecutor, said that Kane was arrested for felony battery and will be tried as an adult.

A police officer saw a young black couple drive by and pulled them over. What he did next left them stunned:

"It's serious," Hiland said. "And we feel like it's something that needs to be pursued as an adult. It's an adult act."

According to court papers, the unidentified 12-year-old victim suffered a "bruised right eye, cut on his neck and broken teeth."

The victim told police that he "did not know the person that hit him."

"I'm sorry to that family," the suspect's mom, Amy Millsaps, told the news station. "I'm sorry Kane did that. I don't know why he did it. I'm sorry ... He's not a bad kid at all. I mean, you all don't want to hear that, and the kid's parents don't want to hear that, but he's not a bad kid. He's really actually sweet as can be."

Local residents who watched the video were shocked and appalled.

According to Kane's mother, her son has mental issues and has spent more than a year in a juvenile detention center for previous fights.

Kane faces the possibly of up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

The Log Cabin Democrat reports that Kane pleaded not guilty to felony first-degree battery and possessing an instrument of crime, a misdemeanor, on June 3.

Kane reportedly told police that the victim was "running his mouth saying he was [a Mixed Martial Arts] fighter and he could beat him up."

A family member of one of the witnesses shared the video with the Conway Police Department on June 1 and Kane was arrested on June 2, after a meeting with his probation officer at the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Services division.
