An alert teen prevented a possible child molestation from happening at a Target store in Boston.
Cameron Cook, 17, was shopping with his mother at the South Bay Plaza Target when he spotted a suspicious man eyeing a young girl, reported WBZ-TV Nov. 15. The incident occurred the weekend prior to the report.
As Cameron explained, “I seen the guy grabbing himself, and my mom goes, ‘Cam let’s go, keep walking,’ I was like, no, something’s going on.”
His mother, Heather Cook, added further details regarding the suspect. “I was close enough that I could smell the liquor coming from his mouth. It was horrible,” she said.

Then they saw the man thrust himself up against the young girl, at which point Cameron came to her rescue.
“So I went up to him, I was like, ‘Excuse me sir, do you know her?’ And then the first thing he said was, ‘I’m not a pervert, I’m not a pervert.’ I was like, I didn’t ask you that sir,” said Cameron.
The man quickly left the store following the confrontation with Cameron, who “had no fear at all,” his mother observed. “He just stood firm on the fact that he knew what this man was doing was wrong. ... I’m very proud of him, but it’s totally within his character. He’s not afraid to do what’s right.”
“I’m just happy I was there to protect her,” said Cameron. “Because you never know what could have went on.”

The surveillance video, which was turned over to police, showed the suspect getting into a waiting car outside the store.
It is not the first time that a Target store has been the scene of a potential sex crime. In July, a transgender woman was arrested for allegedly taking pictures of another woman in the dressing room of a Target in Ammon, Idaho, as reported by LGBTQ Nation.
Shauna Patricia Smith, 43, was booked on one felony count of voyeurism as a male, under the name Sean Patrick Smith, who told police that she identifies as transgender.
