A California woman pulled up to a drive-thru window at McDonalds and was surprised when the server refused to take her money.
Carolyn Constantine said she ordered food and tried to pay at the San Carlos, California, McDonald's, but when the server refused her money, she was pleasantly surprised to learn that the driver in front of her had already paid for her meal in a random act of kindness, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
Constantine said she noticed that the car in front of her had a personalized license plate with four numbers, but she couldn't make them out in the dark. She then searched the parking lot to thank the kind stranger after receiving her food, but the vehicle was already gone.
"Was I ever shocked," Constantine told the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I left with warm food and warm thoughts of the good Samaritans who paid for my dinner."
