Stranger Pays For Family’s Dinner, Leaves Touching Note Behind

| by

A man who watched a single mother do her best to parent her children while out to dinner rewarded the family by paying for their meal, giving a gift card from the restaurant to the family and leaving a note behind that the mom will never forget.

MSN reports that things haven’t been so easy in recent times for a single mother in Raleigh, N.C. She’s going through a messy divorce, has a 4-year-old with bullying issues, a 6-year-old with Asperger's and ADHD, and a college-age child who had to give up school for a year.

None of this has stopped her from taking her family out to dinner every Friday night and this past week the family ate at a Pizza Hut, according to WTVD. Her son’s medication had worn off though and she did her best to apply parenting lessons she’s acquired from reading and classes.

The mother apologized to a nearby diner who was by himself for how loud she thought her kids were going to be during the meal, but he reportedly told her not to be concerned as he had young children of his own.

When the man finished his meal and left the restaurant, a waitress came over to the woman and explained that the fellow patron paid the family’s bill and bought them a gift card for the restaurant. He also left behind a note that had the mother and waitress in tears.

It read as follows:

"I do not know your back story, but I have had the privilege of watching you parent your children for the past 30 minutes. I have to say thank you for parenting your children in such a loving manner.

I have watched you teach your children about the importance of respect, education, proper manners, communication, self control, and kindness all while being very patient. I will never cross your path again but am positive that you and your children have amazing futures.

Keep up the good work and when it starts to get tough do not forget that others may be watching and will need the encouragement of seeing a good family being raised. God bless! -Jake"
